Spreadsheet add-ons: privacy note
This note covers the Trading Agent Data add-on for Google Sheets and the Trading Agent Data add-in for Excel, both from WU Capital Limited. Our privacy policy covers everything else.
What the add-ons send to us
When a formula needs a figure, the add-on sends our API the company ID and, if you gave one, the cut-off date, with your key. A search formula sends what you typed into it. That is all. The figures, formulas and other contents of your file are never sent to us, and the metric you ask for stays on your side: the add-on fetches a company's figures and picks the one you asked for.
As with any API request, our servers see the key and the IP address the request comes from, and use them to answer it, count it against the rate limits and protect the service. Our usage analytics do not name the companies you look up.
What the add-ons store, and where
- Your key: in Sheets, in your Google user properties for this add-on; in Excel, in Office's storage for this add-in, or your browser's on the web. It is not stored in the file, and other people who open the file do not get it. Remove it at any time from the sidebar or task pane. You can also revoke it at /account/api-keys.
- Source notices: in the file itself, in a tab named Sources, and in Sheets also in the file's document properties. They are public text, not personal data.
- Recent replies: kept for up to six hours to save repeat requests: in Sheets in Google's cache for this file, under a digest of your key and the request; in Excel in memory until the workbook closes.
What the add-ons read, and why
They use the narrowest access each host offers.
- Google Sheets asks for three permissions:
script.external_requestto reach our API;spreadsheets.currentonlyfor this file only, to read its time zone so a date cell means the date it shows, to read formulas that call the add-on so as to find which companies they name, and to write the Sources tab;script.container.uito show the menu and sidebar. - Excel asks for ReadWriteDocument, to write the Sources tab and to recalculate when you ask for fresh figures.
We do not access your other files, your email, your contacts or your Google or Microsoft account details. The add-ons contain no advertising and no tracking of their own.
The use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We do not sell it, and we do not use it to train any model.
