Private comparables for transfer pricing and valuation, from filed accounts
Benchmarking studies and valuations need the accounts of independent companies that are rarely listed. We supply the figures those companies filed with their official registers, in one schema across twelve markets, with the register's company ID and the filing date on every figure, so each comparable in a set can be traced back to its filing.
What you get
- Measures
- Revenue, gross profit, operating income, net income, assets, liabilities, equity and, where the register carries them, employees; ratios such as net margin and return on assets are calculated from the same filing.
- Markets
- France, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Estonia, Slovakia and Latvia (private companies); Japan (EDINET filers, listed and unlisted) and the United States (SEC filers).
- Screening
- Company-name search across all markets. Each company's record gives its industry code where we hold one (France, Sweden, Estonia, Slovakia) and its size by revenue, assets or employees. The API does not filter on code or size: you filter the records you pull.
- Dating
- Every figure keeps its filing date, so a set can be re-run with only the accounts that had been filed by the date of the original study.
Search candidates
Find companies by name or register ID, then compare size, industry code and the years their accounts cover.
Check each comparable
Every company links to its page in the official register, so a reviewer can open the filing behind each figure.
Re-run as at a date
Ask for the accounts filed on or before a chosen day to reproduce a past benchmarking set.
Where it stops
Many small Belgian and Danish companies file abbreviated accounts that state gross profit rather than revenue; we leave revenue empty rather than estimate it. Swedish open data covers digitally submitted reports, mostly small and medium companies. Group accounts are kept apart from a company's own accounts. An industry code describes the legal entity, not its group: a French group's parent can carry the head-office code 7010Z, so do not pick comparables on the code alone. Not investment advice.
Licences
Internal use for a firm or a practice is the Commercial licence (US$249 a month or US$2,490 a year); a frozen snapshot of every market is quoted by Order Form. A free 30-day evaluation key for a work email covers up to 1,000 companies. Full terms: licences. Questions: william@tradingagentapp.com.
Questions
Which countries can a comparable set draw on?
Private companies in France, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Estonia, Slovakia and Latvia, plus Japanese EDINET filers (listed and unlisted) and US SEC filers, all in one schema.
Can we reproduce a set as it stood at an earlier date?
Yes. Every figure carries its filing date, and a query for a past day returns only the accounts filed on or before it.
Can each figure be checked?
Yes. Every company keeps its register ID and links to its page in the official register; every figure is the one the company filed.
